Founded in 2014 by William Dunphy as a WSET franchise. The school provided certified classes to the trade and wine-appreciation classes to consumers. Sadly, this school closed when Mr. Dunphy passed away in March 2017, due to complications from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) . His unpretentious enthusiasm for the subject and his generosity in sharing his knowledge and experiences were infectious. He will be missed.
Prior to running this wonderful wine school, Bill worked in Germany and Brussels, where his corporate career took a turn toward wine importing. He transitioned from his corporate career to open Trocadéro in 2010, the first major wine school in Arizona. The name was an homage to the Trocadéro district in Paris, across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.
What a wonderful man who was only part of our community for a few years. He will be missed.
