Sommelier Programming in Chicago and Beyond
This Chicago wine school was founded in 2022 and is located in the city’s Mayfair neighborhood. They are on the second floor of a FedEx shop on Pulaski and West Montrose. While not the most glamorous of facilities, it’s in an up-and-coming sector of Northwest Chicago, with three microbreweries within walking distance.
The school is accredited and offers certification through the National Wine School (NWS). While this accrediting body typically works with universities, a handful of independent wine schools have been accepted into the program. Currently, the school is offering online sommelier certification and is working with several local colleges that offer wine programs. They have yet to open to the public –except for online classes– but wine classes and programs are slated to be released shortly.
Love the program, but I had a hard time contacting the school with questions.
I had taken WSET classes before. I much preferred the more intuitive style of NWS classes. L2 was excellent, thank you.
I took the L1 program online. It was excellent. I will be taking the L2 and L3 programs in person once they open up their classroom to the public. Great location on the second floor in a good neighborhood.
