The Wine Academy of Utah
The Wine Academy of Utah is an approved program provider for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). The school also provides education and training to restaurants, hosts wine events, and offers on-site sommelier services for wine and spirits.
James Santangelo is the owner of the Wine Academy of Utah, a company tailored for both wine enthusiasts and professionals. James has received several accolades, including Salt Lake Magazine Dining Award “Best Wine Educator” in 2011. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Utah’s school for continuing education. In 2019, James teamed up with Kirsten Fox, owner of the Fox School of Wine, for a local radio show called “Twisted Cork Radio Show” that aired on weekend mornings.
I can credit the bulk of my wine knowledge to The Wine Academy of Utah’s Jimmy Santangelo, whom I was lucky enough to work with when he was sommelier at Cafe Trio back in the early aughts
